Time needed: 20 minutes
This guide is for those of you who have purchased a dedicated server from us and just had it delivered. This is how you get started.
- Login to the dedicated servers platform
The address is https://dedicated.hexabyte.se
If this is your first server with us, you have received login information in an email stating that your server has been delivered. If you have problems, contact us at support@hexabyte.se - Choose your server
In the list of servers, select your server and click on it.
- IPMI – settings & console
On the right, under Controls you will find Client Username and Client Password, note these to access IPMI.
click Open the Dell iDRAC Web Control Panel to access the server's IPMI interface. From here you can set hardware RAID as well as via the button Launch Virtual Console you access the server via KVM (keyboard video mouse). - Install operating system
Back in the platform for dedicated servers (dedicated.hexabyte.se), you can perform OS Reloads on your server, which is the installation of operating systems.
On the right side under the heading Operating System Reload you select the desired operating system in the drop-down list and click Reload Operating System.
In a dialog box, you can fill in the desired password for the root user and when you proceed, the operating system will be downloaded and installed.
ATTENTION! When you perform an Operating System Reload, the existing data on the selected disk(s) on the server is deleted.
Installation may take a while. When it is finished, you can log in via IPMI (see previous steps) and make the desired settings, e.g. configure SSH for remote access.
