Dedicated servers in Sweden with high performance, stable operation and easy management via our cloud portal. Operation in Umeå with redundant network connection and low latency in the Nordics.
Real measurements performed from our dedicated servers in Umeå, northern Sweden.
1Gbit/s with unlimited traffic is included in our dedicated servers. Connection to the internet is via our AS215273.
Our dedicated servers can be paid for month to month and have no cancellation period. We believe that the deal should be fair, simple and flexible.
Support for both IPv4 and IPv6. More addresses and Bring Your Own IP are available as options.
Through our customer panel you can access your dedicated servers and perform operating system installation, view IP settings, hardware reboots and more.
If a fan, disk, power supply or other hardware breaks, we replace it free of charge.
Please note, we are not responsible for recovering lost data from disks. For important data, we always recommend a RAID set along with saving two external backups in other locations.
We maintain and monitor our own network. With access to the internet via our own AS number 215273.
Regular support via email or support tickets in the customer portal during Swedish business hours.
Our servers are located in Umeå, northern Sweden which is a strategic location for servers. All our electricity comes from local hydropower, solar power and wind power. The electricity is cheap and renewable.
The Norrland climate is to our advantage when we cool our servers, since it is often cool outside, it is cheap to cool the server hall.
All our servers support SSD model disks. The most common model is SSD with SATA connection, but we also offer servers with SAS-SSD and NVMe-SSD to meet different performance needs. With SSDs, you not only get faster speeds and better performance, but also higher reliability compared to traditional spinning hard drives.
Solid State Drives (SSDs) in dedicated servers have several advantages that make them the best choice in many situations. First, SSDs are significantly faster than spinning hard drives. This means faster boot times, shorter application load times and faster data transfer speeds. For applications that require high performance and fast access to data, SSDs are the obvious choice.
Another important benefit of SSD drives is their durability and reliability. Because SSDs have no moving parts, they are less likely to break due to physical shock or wear and tear over time. This makes them ideal for environments where high reliability is essential.
Despite the benefits of SSDs, there are times when traditional spinning hard drives are still a good choice. Spinning hard drives offer greater storage capacity at a lower cost, which can be important for businesses with large amounts of data that don't need fast access. When the server supports 3.5″ LFF (Large Form Factor) drives, spinning hard drives can be a cost-effective way to store large volumes of data.
We at Hexabyte.se understand that different companies have different needs when it comes to storage. That's why we offer a wide range of storage solutions, including both SSD and spinning hard drives. Whether you need quick access to critical data or large storage capacity for archiving, we have a solution to suit your needs.
By offering support for different types of SSD drives, including SATA, SAS and NVMe, we can ensure our customers get the best performance and reliability for their specific applications.
When you rent a dedicated server, you rent the entire hardware and get full access to it.
Your operating system is installed directly on the machine without any hypervisor running underneath.
Yes, a dedicated server is much better suited than a VPS for running your own virtualization. This is because it is a bare metal and you do not need nested virtualizations.
It's fine to run VMware, Proxmox, LXD/LXC and more.
There are some disadvantages, or things that might be good to keep in mind when it comes to dedicated servers. Some of them are:
Then we replace it as quickly as we can. We are responsible for ensuring that your server has working components such as fans, disks, RAID cards, RAM, CPU, power supplies and more.
Some components may require downtime when replacing.
You yourself are responsible for the data on your disks and backup of the data. We strongly recommend taking advantage of RAID1 available on all dedicated servers. (NVMe disks are connected directly to the CPU and need RAID set up in the operating system with e.g. mdadm or zfs)
We only use enterprise grade disks that are made to be in servers and input 24/7.
